What is Gamma Exposure (GEX)?
Gamma Exposure represents the sensitivity of an option's delta to changes in the underlying price. Market makers hedge their gamma exposure, creating support/resistance at high GEX strikes.
Key Levels:
- Call Wall: Strike with highest positive GEX (resistance)
- Put Wall: Strike with the largest put GEX, shown as the deepest negative bar (support)
- Gamma Flip: Where total GEX changes from negative to positive
Positive GEX: Market makers sell into rallies, buy into dips (stabilizing).
Negative GEX: Market makers buy into rallies, sell into dips (amplifying moves).

Understanding CVNA gamma exposure
Carvana produced one of the most extreme round trips in recent equity history - a near-total collapse on bankruptcy fears followed by a recovery of well over an order of magnitude - and its options market carries the memory. Implied volatility remains elevated relative to the company's improved fundamentals, and CVNA's gamma exposure reflects a chain where both bulls and bears have been badly hurt and neither wants to be short volatility.
The high share price now spreads gamma across wide strike intervals, concentrating it into few levels that carry substantial hedging weight. Short interest has historically been elevated, which combined with call-side gamma has produced repeated squeeze episodes where the call wall was overrun rather than respected. Read the gamma flip level as a credit-sentiment gauge: Carvana's debt load means its downside episodes have been driven by financing concerns rather than by unit economics, and the stock moves fast when that worry returns.

CVNA GEX FAQ
What is CVNA GEX (gamma exposure)?
CVNA GEX measures the aggregate gamma that options market makers carry across all CVNA strikes and expirations. When CVNA GEX is positive, dealer hedging dampens price moves (selling rallies, buying dips); when it is negative, hedging amplifies moves. It is calculated from open interest and each contract's gamma across the Carvana Co. options chain.
What is the CVNA call wall and put wall?
The CVNA call wall is the strike with the largest positive gamma exposure and often acts as resistance, while the CVNA put wall is the strike with the largest negative gamma exposure and often acts as support. As of the latest snapshot, the call wall is at $66, the put wall is at $62, the gamma flip level is near $61.89.
What is the CVNA gamma flip level?
The CVNA gamma flip (zero-gamma) level is the price where net dealer gamma crosses from positive to negative. Above it, market-maker hedging tends to suppress CVNA volatility; below it, the same hedging amplifies moves in both directions. The latest computed flip level is near $61.89.
